Practical Lab & Practical Ground

Western Institute has its own practical lab to train students in the field of fire, construction and Industrial safety with modern equipments and has its own ground for drill, fire demonstration and practical application.

The students of Western Institute of Technology participated in the march past, fire drill. Fire demonstration and training held at Christian P.U. Ground, Udupi, Milagres, St. Agnes College, Karnataka Polytechnic Thumbay Central School, Father Mullers and Padua P.U. College We have conducted demo and workshop at MRPL, UB, Core Logic, NMPT, BASF, Suzion, CICB & many other industries and colleges.

Practical application with Industry

Western Institute of Technology in association with Karnakata Fire & Emergency Services presented fire training and demonstration at Padua School Ground.

Training & Industrial Visit: Students of Western Institute of Technology undergo First Aid Training from St. Johns Ambulance Bangalore at regular intervals and are awarded certificate for the same.

Students are trained from National Safety Council for 3 days covering topics such as Fire & Safety, Petrochemical Safety and Construction Safety. Students obtain certificate after the completion of the program. Students of Health Safety & Environment have industrial visits which is part of our curriculum. Our students have visited KIOCL, Primacy Private Limited, Mfar Constructions, Lamina Private Limited, A.J. Hospital & Research Centre, Tebma Shipyard, Udupi, Raj Fish Meals, Udupi, MCF, NTPC, MRPL, UB, Sequent Scientific Ltd, BASF, CICB, NMPT etc.

Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Evacuation & Mock Drill

Practical training forms the core of the education imparted in our institute. Students of HSE are guided to a great session of practicals in the premises of our institute. Students are introduced to new forms of training i.e. Fire extinguishing using water type fire extinguishers, extinguishing oil fire through Foam extinguishers CO2 and D.C.P. they are also trained in the various modes of fire rescue & Emergency Evacuation from high rise buildings.

Students are taught the filling procedure of these fire extinguishers, and they are also trained to identify various personal protective equipments.

They acquire knowledge about First Aid and medical assistance to the victims. Mock drills are also conducted at regular intervals. Students are trained about assembling and counting procedure. Students are trained about various aspects of safety in construction industry, such as scaffolding, safety when working at heights, full body harness, guard rail systems etc.
